Teaching is far more than a profession—it is a vocation, a calling to shape lives, inspire hope, and form men and women of competence, conscience, compassion, and commitment. This workshop invites teachers to rediscover the deeper purpose of their work by reflecting on teaching as a mission rather than simply a career.

Drawing from my 35-year journey as an Ignatian educator at the Ateneo de Manila University—as a class moderator, Grade Level Coordinator, Coordinator of the Facilities Management and Security Office, Officer-in-Charge of the Central Facilities Management Office, and Senior High School Principal—I will share meaningful experiences, challenges, and lessons that demonstrate how every role in education is an opportunity to serve God and others with excellence and integrity.

Beyond personal stories, the workshop provides practical insights on professionalism in the workplace. Participants will explore the values, attitudes, and behaviors that characterize highly effective educators, including ethical leadership, accountability, collaboration, positive communication, resilience, lifelong learning, and a commitment to excellence. The session also emphasizes the importance of personal well-being, reflective practice, and maintaining passion and purpose amidst the demands of the profession.

By integrating vocation and professionalism, participants will be challenged to see their daily work as a meaningful contribution to the formation of future generations and to the transformation of society.
