Championed by UNESCO as a 21st Century Skill, Futures Thinking helps people understand why and how we use the future to prepare, plan, and interact with the complexity, uncertainty and novelty of our time. As a systematic and creative approach to navigate the changes in education, such as those brought about by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Futures Thinking develops teachers' ability to anticipate emerging challenges and opportunities, imagine the scenarios that can result and use these insights to make informed and adaptive decisions for the school, classroom and practice. Through this workshop, participants will learn practical Futures Thinking methods of scanning trends, uncovering patterns, imagining scenarios and critically examine the futures that emerge in light of AI. As a tool for change-making, this course will enable teachers to introduce their learners to future-ready mindsets and practices that foster curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking, preparing students to navigate the impacts and implications of AI with confidence and agency.
At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to exercise futures thinking skills to navigate the changes in education brought about by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
