"Futures Thinking in Education: A 21st Century Literacy for an Era of Uncertainty" cultivates the foundations of futures literacy—an essential skill recognized by UNESCO for navigating uncertainty and change. 

With the rapid shifts in education and society today, this course empowers teachers with the ability to identify signals of change, reflect on their causes and impacts and imagine the possible scenarios that may emerge, enabling teachers to better prepare for–and meaningfully shape–the future. 

By integrating futures thinking into teaching practice, educators can cultivate adaptability, resilience and an innovations mindset in themselves and their learners. This inspires a sense of agency in facing not just the challenges of today but also the unknowns of tomorrow. 

This forward-looking approach is an education of and for the future, positioning teachers as leaders in shaping resilient, future-ready classrooms and communities.

At the end of the workshop, the participants will be able to:

1. Explore the underlying principles and practices of anticipatory / futures thinking  in order to develop the literacies that enable us to learn from and envision diverse futures.

2. Apply the tools and methodologies in generating insights and ideas for future-ready learners and learning spaces.
