Filipino students ranked poorly on creative thinking as seen in the 2022 Program for International Assessment (PISA) results. How can educators ensure students become critical and creative thinkers who can solve problems independently, even at a young age? In this workshop, the participants will learn about the key stages in the Engineering Design Process (EDP) – Empathize, Define, Generate Ideas, Create and Evaluate. Using this process, the participants will come up with a lesson plan that would provide students opportunities to apply their critical and creative thinking, collaborate and communicate with their peers through solving real-life problems.
