In the past few years, developments in Artificial Intelligence have captured our collective imagination. In education, we’ve explored it as a tool to support teaching and learning, but also quickly recognized it as a relevant context in the world we are preparing our students to engage with. Because of this, AI literacy, or what other scholars refer to as AI fluency, has become a desirable competence across fields: but what do we really mean when we say AI fluency? In this workshop, educators will review how current research addresses this question and reflect on ways this cross-disciplinary competence can be honed in various disciplines/across different academic levels through intentional inclusion of skills that will empower learners to engage with AI creatively and critically by design, not by accident.
